Guild Charter

Foederati is a close-knit guild consisting of mature players dedicated to achieving the goals established for the individual and the guild as a whole. While many of us are serious gamers, fun is our priority.

What can you expect from the guild?

Camaraderie and support in achieving your gaming goals. The guild will use its resources to help guild members accomplish difficult tasks, improving one another’s character, and coordinating assistance.

What does the guild expect from you?

To forge positive relationships with other guild members and support one another in accomplishing your objectives. Obviously some people are less social than others, but the hope is that people who join Foederati are interested in a supportive environment with like-minded people who enjoy working together.

Activity

Characters that do not log in for one month will be placed in Inactive Status, with the date noted in their officer notes. A notice will be sent to that character informing them that they have been deemed inactive. Any character inactive for two consecutive months will be un-guilded. “Alts” are exempt from this rule, so please make sure your in-game public note has you flagged as an alt. If you have a planned extended absence from the game, please notify an officer to maintain your status. Each member must participate in one guild event per month. These events are posted in the events section of the guild web site or listed in Instance signups. Any member may organize a guild event with the permission of a guild officer.

General Rules

Treat fellow guild members as you like to be treated. Members who are abusive, obnoxious or generally disruptive may be demoted or ejected from the guild without notice, although they may contest this action. Guild chat is an effective way to communicate with one another and forge stronger bonds. Most conversation is readily tolerated, however there will be no abusive language toward other guild members. Buying and or selling items should be kept to a minimum, and begging is simply not tolerated. If you need to borrow money, ask someone privately and be prepared to accept ‘no’ for an answer. While we’re fairly lax, we ask that people not use guild chat to give a minute by minute play by play of their in-game experiences or clutter it with meaningless inanity (but occasional goofiness is okay).  If you find yourself having extended conversations with one person, you two might want to consider forming a party chat. It’s okay to ask in guild chat for help, but if you don’t get the response you seek, please don’t spam. Post a request on the website or talk to an officer. Members will give reasonable assistance to fellow members, but will not be required to assist in endeavors detrimental to their person or belongings, nor to provide items or money to other members except of their own free will.

Looting

Any time you are in a run with people outside the guild, please make sure loot rules on everything–including epics and quest items like Stratholme holy water–are established beforehand. People have different rules, and it’s important we maintain harmony. Current preferred loot rules for Foederati run raids are as follows:

BOE: Roll on all Bind on Equip. If some one needs it, they can ask for it and it will be handed over. If more than one person needs it, they can random for it. By the time you hit 60, almost nobody needs greens. Need means for you personally–not for an alt or a friend. Recipes, schematics, etc. that are BOE can be rolled on by everyone but should go to those who need them like any other BOE.

BOP: Pass on all BOP. Afterwards a quick discussion will take place to determine if anyone needs the item. If so those that need will roll. If no one needs then it can be randomed on by everyone.

CLASS SETS: Do not roll on other people’s class sets even if it is an
improvement over your own. Do not roll on equipment that, while better than yours, is designed for another class. For example, rogues should not roll on a +12 stamina necklace that adds to shadow damage spells (priest or warlock only).

EPICS: Some guilds play with the notion that epics are free-for-all. For Foederati, epics will go to those who can use them, even if the epic is BOE and epics will be equipped by the winner.

Looting during fighting or rolling on an item you can’t use will be frowned upon. Repeated reports of “ninja” looting will result in disciplinary action or rebuilding. Loot for Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, and Onyxia are handled using a zero-sum point system that is described in our member forums.

Summary

We hope to continue to grow as a guild and share many in-game experiences that test our skills and increase our fun. There will be opportunities for instances for high and low level members and PvP exercises for those who enjoy it. Working together, we hope to help our players improve their characters to the best that they can be and have fun doing it.
