DKP Loot Rules
DKP Loot Rules
Foederati employs a Multi-pool DKP system to all 25-person raids. DKP is not issued or used in 10 person raids such as Karazhan. We currently have four DKP pools.
They are…
- Tier 4 (Gruul’s Lair – Magtheridon’s Lair)
- Tier 5 (Serprentshire Cavern – The Eye)
- Tier 6 (Battle for Mount Hyjal – The Black Temple)
- Sunwell
DKP Awards
To receive DKP you must be in the raid and ready to go from the beginning of the boss fight to the end of the fight. DO NOT GO AFK. When the boss dies the raid leader will inspect the corpse and link the loot to the raid. Each item has an assigned value that is based on relative usefulness, rarity, and strength. The officers attempt to determine these values before the raid enters the instance. As items are awarded to the members of the raid, the item value is divided evenly between the raid members.
Example: A boss is killed and an item drops with a value of 25 points. Each member of the raid is awarded 1 DKP point.
DKP awards are only given to the toon that is in the raid unless you are requested bye the leadership to switch to an alt. Under those circumstances you may request that any DKP you earn while on the alt go to your main instead. You must ask for this at the time you are asked to switch toons.
Purchasing Items
As each item is individually linked to the raid the raid leader will ask for anyone interested in purchasing the item to say want in raidchat. Only those that are interested in purchasing the item need to say anything. Note: if you are interested in the item but are having difficulty deciding for sure you can ask for more time. Also anyone can ask what the items DKP value is in raid chat. Please keep all conversations in raid chat and vent to a minimum while looting is going on so that the raid leader can easily and quickly distribute the loot to those that want the items.
WHILE LOOTING IS GOING ON ALL OTHER RAID MEMBERS SHOULD BE REBUFFING AND PREPARING TO CONTINUE THE RAID.
Purchasing Etiquette
While these are not hard fast and enforceable rules they are suggestions that will greatly help towards keeping loot drama to a minimum if they are followed.
- Only say want on items that you can effectively use.
- Alts should be willing to pass to mains
- Be willing to pass to people that are only 1 or 2 pieces from completing their set.
- If you already have a ton of epics, be willing to pass to those that do not.
Unwanted Items
Items that are unwanted by any of the members of the raid at the time they drop may have one or more of the following happen to them.
DKP Price Decrease – Items that are unwanted by the raid maybe discounted if they HAVE NOT YET BEEN AWARDED. Constant complaints or requests to lower the price of items during a raid are not acceptable. Item DKP values are posted on the news page of each DKP pool section of the web site. Item values can be debated in the forums. THEY ARE NOT TO BE DEBATED IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAID.
Off-Spec Pricing – If no raid members are interested in taking an item for their main spec raiding spec, any interested raid members will have the option of taking the item for their off spec for 10 DKP. Any person wanting the item at full price will win it over someone wanting the item for off-spec price.
A “main spec” is the spec you generally use for 25 person raiding. An “off spec” is anything spec other than what you normally play in 25 person raiding. For example, healers can purchase DPS gear for 10 DKP provided no main specs are interested.
If an item benefits your main raiding spec you cannot purchase it for the off-spec price. This includes druids, shamans and paladin healers taking cloth healing gear, DPS warriors taking mail DPS items etc. Such items are NOT available for off-spec.
The purpose of the off-spec rule is to help healers acquire DPS gear, DPS warriors to acquire tanking gear etc. Please don’t try and abuse the system to take items on the cheap.
Shard – BOP items that no one wants will be sharded and sent to the guild bank. The item value will still be awarded to the raid members.
Banked – BOE items that remain unwanted are to be sent to the guild bank for distribution or sale.
Attendance DKP
An attendance DKP award is given for boss encounters that have not yet been placed on “Farm Status” by the Senate. At the end of a raid that included non-farm content a 5 point DKP attendance bonus is awarded to each player in the raid and added to the DKP pool of the instance the raid is in.
